Other Housing Options & and Services

Single rooms are offered only when space is available in the residence halls after all students have been assigned a room. If you are interested in a single room, you should contact the Dean of Students Office to request a Single Room Application. You will be notified in late August if single rooms become available for the fall semester. The cost for a single room is an additional 1/2 times the regular room rate.

Healthy Living community floors are available in certain residence halls on campus. Residents of the community share the desire for a community that makes responsible, respectful decisions that relate to the use of alcohol, tobacco, or other drugs.

The scholars hall is McCune Hall, a coeducational building where the community atmosphere focuses on academic and intellectual interests. Quiet hour policies are enforced 24 hours a day. To be eligible to reside in the Scholars Hall, students are required to have a minimum 2.75 cumulative grade point average. If no Shippensburg University GPA is available, students must have a combined SAT score of 1050 or higher. Others may be eligible with special permission from the Dean of Students.

Long Beds students who are over 6' 3" may request an extra long, 80 inch, bed by submitting an email to housing@ship.edu with their name, student number, and height. Requests will be review and the student will be notified by August 1 if a bed is available. All other beds are 75 inches or standard twin size. Click here to see bed height
