University Housing

Welcome to Shippensburg University Housing and your home away from home.

Your new home has both suite and communal style housing.  Campus housing offers 6 suite style buildings, 1 communal hall.  Specific hallways on campus have 11 different Living Learning Communities or LLCs where you can live with students who have similar academic majors or interests.  Housing is offered to incoming first-year, transfer, returning undergraduate students, and graduate students.  Graduate students are assigned to Mowrey Hall.

Shippensburg is proud to offer students the ability to request their own roommates and select their own rooms. Room selection opens early, so the sooner you confirm your housing by signing the housing agreement and paying the $200 deposit the bigger the room selection will be. Students will receive an email invitation to use MyCollegeRoomie to find roommates.  After mutually matching any/all roommates the first of the matching students to select the room will pull all roommates into the room. Room selections are final so be sure you agree before selecting a room.  Once the room selections are closed the Housing Office will place all unassigned students and assignments will be frozen until room changes are allowed after the second week of classes in the fall semester through the residence life staff in the building.  The residence life staff is made up of one resident director, a graduate student, and several resident assistants, undergraduate students, per building.

Students needing special accommodation may contact our Office of Accessibility Resources for review and approval of any reasonable accommodation. Co-ed halls are offered.  Individual suites/rooms are single gender.  Gender inclusive housing is available. Room types are offered first come first served. All room types are offered to first-year students except communal singles. The room type you choose will affect your cost per semester, so it is important to review the various layouts before selecting a room.
